It feels so weird now that the boys are home. It makes it harder to know what day it is lol.

OK so yesterday we went to Nashville for John's dr appointment at the orthopedist and it went well. His Dr was awesome and it turns out that John has Osgood Schlatter Disease. It's not as bad as it sounds thankfully. The tendon, which is controlled by his quad muscle is a little weak and his patella (kneecap) slides left to right. He needs to keep his knee brace on at all times and do specific exercises and everything should be fine. Apparently this disease hits many children who are active and having a growth spurt. John grew almost 3 inches in about 2 months. She says according to the x-rays he has a lot more growing to do so our original estimate of him being around 6 foot is probably right on the money.

Between FaceBook and Twitter I haven't been blogging much sorry :( I am hoping things will be back to normal starting on Monday. Just have to organize ourselves here. School ended but Charles has summer school now so we had to change our schedule. The boys have dentist and doctor appts all summer so that hopefully they won't have to miss too much school next year.

Tomorrow is John's dr appt in Nashville for his knee, hopefully that will all turn out ok So anyway hopefully starting Monday things will get back on track.

So we had a tremor on Friday. Nothing that we even felt mind you but a tremor nonetheless. Problem is that it rattled our well and we still don't have full pressure and it is sporadically kicking out mud still. Sigh. What a weekend. Alex had to work so I was left trying to tend to the well and get the water going. I managed to get the cold water running clear by Sunday Saturday we had to leave it sit until night time and when I tried it around 10 pm it wasn't ready yet. What a PITB

To top it all off I have left my new designs at home and forgot to bring my new blinkie for my CT. I swear I am going to trip over my brain somewhere in the house or yard and that will be it lol.

A little Update

So, I think Snoopy is part cat lol. Here's why:

LOL Apparently he is not going to be cooperative as we build his fence. This one is temporary until e can go get the wood to make a solid fence. We have coyotes and stray dogs and one has already come after him at night Bill is allowing us to leave Snoopy over by his property where his Great Pyranese can watch over him. They chase everything away lol Even cars ;)

Everyone is enjoying Snoopy. He loves to play tug of war -yesterday he did it with my hair lol, missed the chance for photos though ;)

Finally here I am entering our Library here in Waverly last week. We practically live here using the internet. The people here are so nice!

I thought I would share something with all of you as we come up on this Mother's Day weekend.

Yesterday I was "fixing my face" a little because Alex was going to take a few photos of me so I could update all of my photos here, on FaceBook at Divine etc. My youngest John - who got me my Snoopy as an early gift ;) - walks into our bathroom (as long as the bedroom door and bathroom door is open the boys know they can walk through) ooks at me and asks what I'm doing. I said I am fixing my face so I don't look so old and break the camera LOL" To which he replies with a frown "You don't look old" As I start to say how sweet that was he finishes his sentence "Except for the bags under your eyes from not sleeping"

Soooo on this Mother's Day weekend I wish you all the best that LOVE and Motherhood has to offer - including backhanded compliments ;)

CT Call & Snoopy Update!

I will be keeping this CT Call open. Twice I have tried to put a time on it then things went crazy and I had to start over again so this is going to be a continual call until the spots are filled!

Snoopy is mine!

I spoke to our Landlord yesterday and she agreed to let us keep him but he has to stay outside. I don't agree with that, I think animals should be allowed in the house in the evening and during extreme weather. Sooooo on the "Honey Do" list is the building of a strong, warm, wood house for Snoopy ;) I can't wait to have him over by us. And John lucked out, he doesn't have to pay for Snoopy, he has to clear a bunch of big rocks from around the ponds and Bill will call the "bill" paid in full! John already finished one of the three ponds lol.

Puppy Problems, John drives and wth is that?

Well, how can I have Puppy Problems when I don't even have a puppy? Well let me start with the phrase "o contrare mon freire" (sp? lol) If you have been following me around - especially on Facebook, you know the neighbor's two dogs both had puppies. One litter was a Grand Pyranese and the other litter are Jack Russell's. While I adore the Pyranese, they are such fluff balls, I bonded with one of the Jack Russells. I named him Snoopy ;)

I know the photo isn't the best but you can see why I call him Snoopy - yes I know Snoopy is a Beagle lol.

So anyway I had made a request to Bill - our friend and neighbor, that he sell Snoopy last. So between Bill & John, they came up with the idea of Snoopy making the perfect Mother's Day gift for me. Awesome right? John got Snoopy cheaper than what Bill is selling the puppies for and I get my gorgeous little snookie ukums. What could be sweeter than that right? Well almost nothing but now let's bring the problem into the picture. Did I tell you that we are not supposed to have pets here? Sigh. I am going to have to go to the Landlord and ask her if it will be okay, I mean we have been here over a year and a half already and we haven't destroyed the place and we never ask her for anything so I am hoping she says yes, if not John and I will be crushed.

And speaking of John check him out - DRIVING!

That is an F250 he is driving! So now he won't have to take the lawn mower or tractor to work when he grows up cause he can drive a car now lol. Or actually a fairly large truck lol. He's 12, don't forget that lol .

Dinner Thursday night was my Pasta Salad and grilled shrimps ;) Needless to say there were NO leftovers lol.

Now last but not least, where is Rod Serling when you need him? We were walking around our yard checking out the new growth - in between the raindrops - and we found some very pretty things:

Here are the weird things. Eeeww and OMG!

If anyone can tell me what these things are I would appreciate it. I am thinking they must be some sort of fruit designed to be eaten by birds then pooped out somewhere else, but I could be wrong. And just eeewww I mean they are kinda like face huggers almost lol. At any moment Ripley could have come up behind me with Bishop in tow and started shooting and I would not have been surprised lol.

I know why it doesn't seem that long since I posted...... I started 3 different posts and never got to finish any of them lol. I have been so busy getting my products together and doing everything else that I just can't seem to get organized. Here is a brief list of things happening.

Just a quick hello

then I will have to be off. I hope you are all enjoying our Blog train at Divine Digital and that you had a wonderful time helping us celebrate our 3rd Birthday! Many of our links for the blog train will stay up for a week but some may not be so I hope you managed to get them all.

Yesterday I found out that the Library would be closed today and tomorrow so I had to make a quick change to get a little internet service today. I left Alex at home sleeping - poor man will be working until midnight tonight so I didn't want to make him get up early. Also he had stayed up last night until 2 in the morning watching Charles play Silent Hill 4 lol. I got Charles up this morning and asked if he wanted to come with me this morning. So we ran a couple of errands and grabbed a card and gift for Alex for Easter and now are sitting at Subway. I hate subway but this tuna sandwich is ok. What can I say? I am from NY and worked in a deli through High School - I know what cold cuts are supposed to taste like and Subway is just not it. I mean heck this tuna sandwich they mae me? They asked if I wanted the bread toasted so I said yes - they put the tuna on and THEN toasted it!! Sigh, just not what I am used to. It's Good Friday so no meat today. Tonight I will be making my Pasta for dinner. Pasta, mozzarella, fresh basil and tomatoes. Yummy. I was able to get a leg of Lamb for Easter Dinner YAY! I haven't had Lamb in I don't know how long. That really stinks because I usually use it to make my sauce as well. Well Baby steps I guess lol.

So a little rant..................

Johnathan did a Fundraiser at school. I saw a few things I liked and this is the first time he wanted to do one in a while so I say what the heck. I ordered 5 items. I am not - or at least had THOUGHT I was not - ignorant as to the usual quality of Fundraiser items. Sometimes you get lucky and the items you are purchasing are well known brands and you know exactly what you are getting - not this time.

I had gotten a Strawberry plant several years ago complete with the wonderful little pot for about $8 I loved the little pot but alas it was one of the things we ended up leaving behind in Florida from the move. So on his fundraiser sheet there were two plant starter kits, one for cherry tomatoes and one for strawberries ;) Oooohhhh ahhhhhh ok cool $11 but hey ya know it's a fundraiser. Sigh, well we got the items yesterday - the pot is small. I mean really small as in you could make a "C" with your pointer finger and thumb and it fits right in there. OK and to boot it came with some dirt tablet smaller than the Clorox toilet drop ins - maybe an inch and a half wide. No real directions either, it came in a generic box with generic directions and said nothing as to whether or not the mesh around the tablet should be removed or not and that it had to be soaked. Sorry if I sound stupid but I am old school, you take the dirt and your seeds and boom you're ready to rock and roll.

Well so I made the best of an iffy situation and planted the seeds. We will see what happens.

But here as you can see is our Cilantro - it's doing wonderfully!

As are our Romaine lettuce and our two tomato plants ;)

In the house our little seedlings are doing well too. This first one is actually a clove of garlic which started sprouting all on it's own so we decided to plant it in a little pot I had painted last year and see what happens.

Lastly our Tulips are growing again this year which I was amazed by since they had gotten left outside during all of the freeze and snowstorms and what not:

And our Iris are now starting to bloom as well. They are all around the side of our house and a few line the garden we are making out front.

Well that is all of our garden photos for now. I will be back later with some scrapping news ;)

I am not sure actually LOL My mind is deteriorating lol. I left my pictures from this weekend home although I did manage to remember some layouts ;) Anyway off the top of my head I know we did some Spring Cleaning, I painted the front stoop again, we did some gardening and weeding, I made a great Summer Macaroni Salad, deviled eggs and dry rubbed ribs on the grill ;) We got some more stuff to storage, Charles cleaned up the yard, John built and flew a kite, the neighbors dog had her pups. Is that enough? LOL No apparently not because I know there is much more but it will have to wait for tomorrow when we can spend more time here at the Library. An eventful week or so

So this past week or so was filled with happy things. Both of the boys got to their doctor and we were able to get their meds again! YEAH!!!!!! Finally after more than a month of them not being on them they can function again. They both feel much better now. (and my sanity is slowly returning ;) )

After Johnathan's doctor appointment Thursday morning we stopped at Kroeger which is the only place to get decent Italian bread and we laughed when we saw this in the parking lot:

Johnathan kept saying "OMG is that the real Ghost Hunters?" LOL He was very tickled over the whole thing.

Charles's birthday was the 7th and he was pretty happy with all that he got. Besides the workout bench and weights we had gotten him, we also got him a Razor phone. Then with the money his Grandpa sent him he bought a pair of the steel toe workboots and an mp3 player. Johnathan went to trade in a bunch of his GameCube games and ended up making $62 that he was able to spend! So he bought himself 4 used games and got his brother Resident Evil 4 and Hitman 2 for his PS2 ;) I thought that was pretty sweet when he walked in and said Happy Late Birthday! Charles had already played RE4 but wanted to do it again now that RE5 is out.

If you haven't checked out my Facebook page, I had posted a photo of me standing in front of Kenny Chesney's tour bus! LOL He had been there since the day before scouting out places to film his new video and signing autographs and what not. Obviously I missed it but hey ya know, the tour bus works too pfffttt lol.

On the down side I am sick ugh. It started with just a small fever and a sore throat, then went to no fever but a cough and laryngitis and now it is laryngitis on and off and sniffles and cough. I figure I should be better within the next day or so but in the meantime..... ick lol.

Tonight (Sunday) I made my grilled Salmon with Ginger Honey sauce, homemade fried rice (frozen mini egg rolls) and cherry tomatoes with spinach, basil and mozzarella ;) Yummy. I have pics:

It wasn't until this morning that I realized I never got photos of the finished products except for the tomatoes lol. Oh well, it was delish ;)

It was my first shot at fried rice and I was pleasantly surprised that it came out so good ;) Normally I would have made a salad but we are having serious issues with Kraft and their salad dressings. My family has been eating Catalina dressing for four generations. My Nana ate it, my Mom ate it, I ate it and both my boys ate it. It was the ONLY salad dressing they would eat. Forget French, Thousand Island, Russian, French Country, Italian etc They ONLY ate Catalina, well not anymore. Every "New & Improved" salad dressing from Kraft - IMHO tastes like garbage. They should have left the Catalina the way it was but since they didn't and they have lost 4 generations of customers - I say they should give us the recipe for the original Catalina and any other dressings they supposedly now making new and improved. I mean hey if they aren't going to use the originals then put them in a recipe book and give them to us. Anyway, the boys love mozzarella with tomatoes so it worked out all right in the end as they still got the fresh veggies.

Sunday morning also proved to be good for the boys as our neighbor Bill - the man with whom John works - decided that he no longer needed something so he called John over to pick it up:

LOL Sigh, not something I would have bought myself as I am paranoid about kids getting hurt and breaking limbs but hey, it was a gift so what could I do? It needs some work and a couple of strings but is still functional at this point. Hopefully by summer I will be able to get it all fixed.

A Quick Hello

We stopped in quick here at the Library by Charles' doctor. I had some layouts to upload but apparently they are on my key and not on my computer as I thought they were. Oh well, tomorrow. That is when we will be at our normal Library and more organized.

I have 5 freebies all ready to go so I will be trying to get those uploaded as well so you should have at least a week of freebies available to you soon.

How do you get brothers to stop fighting and help the younger one earn a little respect? Give the older one his birthday gift a few days early and let them put it together. Yep Charles & John have been at each other for the past few days to the point that they almost got into a full blown fist fight. Besides the fact that acquiring their meds is still a week off there is the whole "Let's fight for the position of the Alpha Male even though there is already an Adult Alpha Male in the house and we would still only come in second" syndrome going on. Charles being the older brother, feels he is so much wiser, stronger and tougher than his 12 year old brother. Now while it is true that Charles does not have to actually work out to get a fairly "ripped" or chiseled body, John has mass on his side, the boy is thick and when he starts to work out he is going to be huge. But back to the whole thing regarding the Birthday gift - Charles will be 16 this Saturday and as you probably already know he is joining football. He had asked for a weight bench set for Christmas but we couldn't swing it so instead we got it for him for his birthday. Our plan had been to build it for him while he was at school and let him come home and find it but since the endless arguing had started we came up with an alternative plan. John loves to work with his hands and build things so.........we figured if we got the work bench the boys could build it together and John, in turn, could earn a little respect. Everytime they would call us we said "Read the instructions" About 5 times you could hear Charles say "How did you do that? How did you know that?" At one point he was telling John - very loudly - "Tighten this, tighten this!" John with his ever present sarcastic yet smooth attitude replied "I got this, go text someone" ROFLMAO I couldn't stop laughing. So our plan, worked like a charm ;)

That was Sunday night, Saturday was a little annoying because I had been uploading my files to Divine Digital at the Library and trying to get them into my boutique. I managed to get one kit up and had only 2.9 megs left to go to upload the second when we lost power. I had uploaded over 80 megs on that second kit now I have to try it again today. I was so annoyed. I was putting the first kit in the boutique so while I was mildly annoyed that it got interrupted I was more angry that my upload had pooped out on me. I really hate not having internet at home. Either way I have been able to get a few new kits into my Boutiques and as always they are 50% off for the first week so be sure to check back often to get a great deal!

Gotta run for now, I have made a few emoticons that I thought were just too cool and am trying to figure out how to share them with you all ;) Plus, of course, I need to get more designs in my boutiques ;)

Busy Busy Busy

So many things going on and just not enough time to put it all here. We don't have internet at home so we have been making trips to the library as often as possible. I have managed to get several kits into my Boutiques and there are more on the way.

In January we had an appointment for the boys to go to their doctor for their ADHD appointment and get their meds. The day before the appointment they called to confirm then said, "well you have such and such insurance and we don't take it any longer" Uh huh, they had told me they were going to take care of it back in November and never did. You know the old adage, you want something done right..... do it yourself. So I got left with no appointment for them. I found a new doctor, took them to see her and after over an hour I find out that their previous doctor did not send the information regarding the boys testing and diagnosis of ADHD so she refused to write them a prescription. Also the previous doctor only sent information regarding their last two appointments. I told the new Nurse "No they have been going to her for almost a year now" and I went to the Pharmacy and got a print out of all the prescriptions for the year. I also gave them the name and phone number of the original doctor who had diagnosed them over 6 years ago and signed the paper so they could get the records from him. The pharmacy had made a mistake and put one prescription of Charles' under the doctor's partner name so I was questioned about that. I went back to the Pharmacy and told them the problem, they checked it and found out that indeed they had made a mistake so they gave me a copy of the prescription and a new print out. I brought that back to the doctor as well. Nope no script. Now they tell me that they send all ADHD patients to another place to have them taken care of. BS. I asked why the boys had an appointment and why I went through all of it if the doctor didn't see ADHD patients. Silence on the other end of the phone then, well the Nurse's didn't know. Again I call BS. So now my boys are without their meds because I had to make an appointment for them both to each see a Therapist first (Charles' is today John is next week because the only way to get them in together was to wait till March - yeah uhhhh NO) THEN it takes two weeks from their initial appointment to get them in to actually see the doctor who would prescribe their meds. So in the meantime they are going through withdrawals and as it so happened, Charles had his tests the week this all started so he had to take his tests without his meds. I understand the whole thing about their medication being a controlled substance but when you see that a child has been taking the medication for such a long time and you know they are doing everything you have asked them they should not be made to go without their medication. It's just wrong. If it were summertime I wouldn't be as angry but they are in the middle of school and need their medications. Now the interesting part is that when I called the other place to make the appointment they told me that the doctor should be able to just give them a prescription to hold them over in the interim, she said if anything they could call her to confirm the boys appointments. So I told the Nurse that to which her reply was "We'll see what they say" Excuse my French but WTF? Bottom line, no meds. Now, to add insult to injury the Attendance Lady at school is having issues because Charles has missed so much school. Mind you he has not been out for full days - most of the time - but if you check out before 11:30 you are marked absent for the day. Also he had been to te Dentist approximately 10 times in the last two months to have work done so we would check him out early and bring him back or just check him out in the afternoon and not go back. He as gone in late a few times of which if you are late I think more than 5 times they consider it truancy. Well geeze he rides the bus and while he has admitted to taking his time on a few occasions to actually get to class - Truancy? ARGH So I am sitting here making copies of all the Doctor and Dentist notes I have and giving them to her again because she says she hasn't gotten them all. I really wish these doctors and dentists would do something so that kids could get appointments after school or on saturdays because this is ridiculous. Charles is getting so frustrated because he is getting pretty good darn grades and if he fails because of absences he is not going to be happy and neither am I.

On Friday we had a scare with Charles. He woke up around 2 am and threw up. A few minutes later he was fine and went back to bed. When we all got up for our daily routine he was fine laughing, playing his music and had no fever and felt fine. I figured he had eaten something in the middle of the night (he sleep-Eats if you didn't know) and once his body had gotten rid of whatever it was, he was fine. On his way to school from the bus he texts me and says he just got sick again then once at school again. So we go and get him and he looks fine. He tells me he had bad pain on his right side and every time he threw up he felt better - until the next time. Being the Queen of internal turpitude a flag goes off in my head and we head right to his doctor who thought the same thing I did - Appendicitis or blockage. I was leaning more towards the appendicitis because I did not know that a blockage can cause vomiting. She immediately - after checking him - gives us letters for the hospital for an X-Ray and blood work. We get them done, go back with the films and thankfully it wasn't an appendicitis but was a blockage. She gave him some medication for it - which he just loves to take btw lol. So I couldn't resist teasing him at the doctor's office and told him see? You are FOS. He looks at me as the doctor starts laughing and says FOS? The doctor says yeah full of stool! Thankfully now he is much better.

Saturday was wonderful as Alex took me for dinner in Nashville! We finally got to go out together. The boys went over Sonja and Joel's house (two of our friends who go to the same church as Charles) They have boys who go to school with Charles and they all hung out and played Guitar Hero and what not. We went to a wonderful little Italian restaurant after 4 other restaurants told us the wait was1 hour and 45 minutes - 2 1/2 hours lol. We were going to Kobe but they told Alex they weren't taking reservations when he had called two weeks ahead. When we got there they said they were booked up. He was not happy. But it worked out fine. The food was awesome. Afterward we went to Starbucks and Borders. We are such Geeks lol. We had a nice time sipping coffee and checking out all of the books. When we got back we went home and changed and went back to Sonja and Joels and talked and played a little Guitar Hero too. Well, Alex played with the boys I talked lol. I managed too to get the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation book for Charles & the American Boys Handy Book for John. It has a ton of things to make and build. The only scare thing is that I had to tell my 12 year old that he is NOT allowed to build an explosive! LOL OMG It is loaded with "old time" things to do and there are instructions on how to build almost everything. He took the book over to Bill's house yesterday and built a chair and we made a note board out of the back of his old chair, since it was already cushiony we didn't have to add anything to make it hold the thumb tacks. We just put some light blue vinyl around it and it was ready to go lol.

Tuesday, is today as of this writing and is a big Doctor day as both boys have appointments at the Therapists over the course of three hours so they can get re-analyzed and get their meds back. I really hope it is not another 4 or 6 weeks before they actually get them.

ARGH, I have lost my internet connection at home and now must rely on the Library again. I only have a few minutes right now because I need to get back home before the boys get home from school. I do have new Designs to get up in my boutiques but it will be slow going for now. Just bear with me please I am trying to get this sorted out. ARGHHHH.

I have to leave now because there are two people in here that are really rude and loud and I might just snap like a bowl of rice krispies.

Have an old wreath or other decoration which is coming unglued or unwrapped? DON'T throw it away recycle it! Remove any salvageable pieces and you can create a new wreath! Creative napkin rings can be made out of berry twigs and almost anything else with wire attached to it! Find a few freshly fallen leaves in your yard and you can add to the beauty of your table! Some of your berries are discolored or chipped you say? That's ok with some paint, brushes or even paint pens, glitter or wax you can change them into something totally new!

An eventfull - UN-Eventfull morning ;)

Oxy moron right? LOL Well it was a beautiful morning because everything went smoothly. I have been absolutely exhausted. I go to bed, pass out quite literally and wake up as tired as I was when I went to bed. Mornings have become NOT my thing which isn't good when you have two boys who sleep like the dead to get up, get fed and get off to school. To help alleviate some of the stress I made French toast yesterday wrapped it in two piece packages of wax paper and sandwich bags then put the sandwich bags in a large freezer bag and, of course, put them in the freezer. Now when they want French Toast they can just remove the bag and heat them up. I used to do that all the time when I had to leave the house to work and the boys needed to get to school but I had stopped it because I would just make breakfast for them. I forgot what a wonderful time saver this can be. So they ate, took their medications, got dressed, brushed teeth and kiss kiss - were off to school lol. I LOVE mornings like today lol. I even managed to get a photo of them leaving for school together.

Firstly they are walking together and Charles is actually carrying John's backpack.

Then they efficiently manage their time because they play basketball at the church until the bus comes.

Last night I am on the computer and I hear "CHARLES!!" I'm thinking oh great, now what? I turn around and there is Charles, who is supposed to be clearing up the table and put the food away and he's putting the food away all right LOL.

That WAS leftover Spinach with garlic and olive oil LOL He ate like a cup of it right out of the pan lol. John won't eat more than the tablespoon I make him eat but Charles loves it. He told John that he should eat it even though he doesn't like it because it's good for his muscles and blood lol. John took the photos of Charles chowing down on it but they are a bit fuzzy lol.

I LOVE days like these ;) Have a good one!

Nope, didn't do it. Now before you get all annoyed read WHY. Here's the scoop of poop.

Alex and I took Charles over to the dentist office for his root canal. After he is in we let the lady at the desk know that we are going for a leisurely stroll down to the school to vote. We go and it's pretty much empty. Maybe 5 people ahead of us. There were A LOT of voters who did their voting early so today was a breeze. Well it would have been a breeze - if it weren't my life. We get on line, fill out our ballot request and go down to the area marked "S" to sign in or whatever. Pfftt, yeah right. My name is not on the list. Well isn't that just special? OK so I go over to the man in charge - who happens to be a friend and neighbor of ours - Thank God - and he chuckles until he sees the ID I have in my hand. It was my Voters Registration card - only it wasn't. You see when Alex & I registered in January, I got my card back in the mail. No envelope or anything just the card. I figured no big deal, it's a new state maybe they logged it and then I would just bring it back on Election day. I thought maybe it was just how they verified that I was me and where I lived etc. Alex told me he got his registration card and I was like - cool. Didn't give it a second thought. So there I am standing there and Mel tells me to hold on and he calls another gentleman over who looks at my card and says Uh oh. Yeah not good. He calls down to the Board of Elections or wherever and says that he has me there, he has the card and last thing is "Yeah I kinda thought so" End result "I am NOT registered wit the state of Tennessee and sorry NO you cannot vote. They were so upset for me. I just laughed and said "Yeah Murphy is alive & well and STILL living in my house." So I got to stand there while Alex voted and got his sticker. I, myself am stickerless because firstly they messed up by sending it back to me and I messed up by not paying attention and thinking to ask a question.

Election Day!

Is everyone getting out to vote? Alex was checking over the sample ballots online yesterday since this is the first voting year in a new state. This is kinda like the night before Christmas for him lol. Anyway since the schools are closed today we have a dentist appointment for Charles at noon so that is when voting will be done lol. Two birds, one stone.

Today I need to upload my little Puppy kit and finish up my posting bonuses and make up my sale ad WHOOPS did I say SALE? Shhh, well it's not like I said 70% off of $10 or more in my Boutique WHOOPS. I better leave now ;)

Fall Foliage & FOOD!!

OMG One thing I really missed in Florida was the change of seasons. One day it was summer then boom for about 2 weeks it was winter. Palm trees don't exactly change colors either and they don't have the same effect when they are decorated with Christmas items. Now it will be almost a year since we moved to Tennessee and I must admit, we do love it. 99% of the people are awesome, the countryside is beautiful and the change of seasons reminds me of memories I had as a child. I have a bunch of photos already but Alex remarked just yesterday morning how Autumn's colors have really taken a hold of the scenery and we will be going for a walk today. I am hoping to get some really wonderful shots of it to share with you ;)

On the Beneficial/Detrimental Fence of Autumn there is FOOD. OMG One of my favorites - beef stew with dumplings (NOT xlarge noodles but dumplings), autumn soup, sancocho, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, mashed sweet potatos with marshmallows, espresso brownies, my own thumbprint raspberry cookies, etc. etc. etc. (Movies - The King & I lol) I can hear the pounds packing on and I haven't even started cooking yet! Never mind the "Heart Attack in a bite" factor.

Well I have TWO great challenges going on regarding recipes if you are interested in playing!

Murphy's Law alive & well

Yes this whole weekend has been spent - so far - trying to evict Mr Murphy from our house. The Electric company has zapped our house twice and a third time it was zapped by another company doing work in town who hit a main line or something and they zapped the whole town. Needless to say the computer I do my designing on was on all three days that it happened. One of the days I was sitting here and the lights went out I had a fit. I went outside and there was an electric truck in our driveway. The lights came back on by the time I had gotten to the door but I yelled at the Electric man "What the hell was that for?" His response was that they had to swap out all the meters for the new ones because of the upgrades. "You don't tell someone before you do it? I have 5 computers in this house and I was working!" "I don't have time to stop and tell everyone I am swapping out their meters" ??????????!!!!!!!???? (Insert extremely angry expletive here) So about 4 hours of my time yesterday was spent trying to get CS2 to work again. My brand new external is being a creep because it doesn't like the idea of me moving files off of it and our internet service decides to switch me over from high speed to snail speed on a whim and then disconnect about every hour or so. Add that to the fact that the boys are making me nuts and I am having hot and cold flashes and you have the makings for quite an interesting time here at the Double "S" house.

So I told you all that to tell you this, I did have another freebie planned for you all and to get my new items in the boutiques and a special sale I am running at Divine Digital but I have been held up. So, everything is coming, it's just been a bit delayed. I apologize .... again. Seems I have been doing a lot of that lately.

There are so many people in this world who are lucky enough to have lots of people they call friends. People they go out with and talk to on the phone, have play dates with each others children etc. Not me. I know A LOT of people. For the most part I enjoy people, but there are few whom I REALLY call Friend. To me, Friend is a special word to be reserved for someone special. A Friend is someone who will tell you what you NEED to hear even if it isn't something you WANT to hear. A friend will be there when times are tough, times are good, the birth of your child, a marriage or a divorce, in sickness and in health. Friendship is pretty much like a marriage. It's special because two people CHOOSE each other, they choose to care and CHOOSE to help and even choose to love. During the past two months I have found out who my FRIENDS really are. While things are still upside down here at home, they have calmed down, I have calmed down because of not only my family here at home but because of my friends. Friends who have comforted me, called in favors to help me and just plain listened. I have found out that I have friends that I didn't even know I had. They have extended patience and compassion and have re-instilled my faith in the human race again. I wanted to say thank you to these people ........... you know who you are. I won't mention you here because I know there are people out there who will haunt you wanting to know what has been going on, not because they care (well maybe some) but just because they love the gossip. Such is life. LOL You have to take the good with the bad because in the end how do you know you have something good if you have never experienced something bad? I have experienced bad and probably will continue to do so at regular intervals for the rest of my life. It's ok. Because the "Goods" that I have far outweigh the "Bads" and they will be what keeps me strong. Thank all of you who have cared, stood by me (as it were lol) and kept me from losing (what is left) of my mind. Or as I tell my son "Keeping me from snapping like a bowl of rice krispies" LOL. Seriously, I love you all, my FRIENDS.

OK I am going to go do another post now because I am getting soft in my old age and I am still trying to get used to it lol. Also I need to get my business back on it's feet. It has suffered horribly over the past two months. Take care!

EEeekk. Sorry all. I didn't realize time had slipped away so quickly. As many of you know there have been some family issues going on here. We are still muddling through them but I am hoping that we are coming to a final resolution. Thank you for all the e-mails and well wishes. We appreciate it ;) I intend to write some more but Charles has a second dentist appointment this morning and we need to do a few errands. Computer woes....

So there have been at least 4 power surges over this past week - that know of - and apparently they have really taken a toll on my surge protector/battery backup which was on it's way out as it was. Now today there was some sort of a surge - apparently only over in that corner of the living room and it set off my battery backup. It's incessant whining was going right through me but normally you go over and push the button, wait a minute then push the button again and voila it's fine. Not tonight, nooooooo. I reset it 4 times and every time it would start with the whining again. So now, because I also don't know where Alex put the other surge protector, I can't turn my computer on which also means I can't design anything. I am fit to be tied. Well my plans were botched for today in big part because of this, so I am all out of whack now. I hope he can either fix it or find the other surge protector.

I can't even enjoy the Birthday Party at SAS or our Scrap to School fn over at Divine. We had a power surge yesterday and the folder Ihad open ended up corrupting. Both My SAS Mega contribution and my Divine Diva Deal (which starts tomorrow) got corrupted with it. I was making previews and poof. Sighhhhh. I am trying to re-create everything but luckily I do still have a bunch of the psd files on which I created my elements and stuff and some of my papers.

I mean it's 90 degrees here almost every day, people are still dressing in light clothing, there are no Halloween or Thanksgiving decorations around.
